First Grade Field Trips

We’re excited for two memorable first-grade experiences this year!

Children’s Theatre Company

• Show: Roald Dahl’s The Enormous Crocodile – The Musical

• Date: Thursday, November 20

• About: We will be seeing Roald Dahl's “The Enormous Crocodile” The Musical. “The Enormous Crocodile is weaving his way through the jungle with his tummy rumbling…  Only the other jungle creatures can foil his secret plans and clever tricks, but they’re going to have to find a large amount of courage to stop this greedy brute. From Trunky the Elephant to Muggle-Wump the Monkey, get to know the menagerie of creative puppets in the U.S premiere of this smash U.K. hit production. You’ll go from the jungle into outer space and back again, just in time for a wild dance party! ”

 Minnesota Landscape Arboretum

• Program: Ready, Set, Grow! (habitats, ladybug release, seed planting, outdoor exploration) While there they will participate in the arboretum’s “Ready, Set, Grow!” experience.  Students will learn all about habitats! Students will learn about the importance of habitats, release ladybugs, plant a set of seeds to take home, and explore habitats outdoors.

• Dates:

  • Tuesday, May 19 — Bock, Bowman, Vethe

  • Wednesday, May 20 — Moyer, Schmidt

Payment & Permission

• Total cost (both trips): $26 per student (one payment covers both)

• Due date for payment & permission: Friday, October 17
